Rupert Cutler
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Rupert Cutler has held numerous positions within the environmental world, including being appointed as assistant secretary of agriculture for conservation, research, and education under President Jimmy Carter. He has worked for the U.S. Forest Service and the Soil Conservation Service.
Since 1991, Dr. Cutler has resided in Roanoke, Virginia, where he served as founding executive director of both Virginia’s Explore Park (1991-1997) and the Western Virginia Land Trust, now the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy (1997-1999). Since retiring in 1999 he has served on several nonprofit agency boards and citizen advisory committees and as president of the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke. |
