Betty Lesko

.​A native of Texas, Betty holds a bachelors degree from Southwestern University with a double major in English and Latin and a masters degree in English from Southern Methodist University.  After teaching English at Central Texas College, she has spent her adult life in volunteer administration and has held leadership positions in many community organizations such as the Junior League of Roanoke Valley, the American Cancer Society, the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Opera Roanoke, and DAR.  She is proud to be one of the co-founders of the Discovery Shop both in Roanoke and Smith Mountain Lake.  She is a ruling elder at her church.  She is an avid reader, enjoys her duo piano ensemble group and also genealogy.  She and her husband Ed have three children and eight grandchildren.
