Other Areas
While the core of the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy’s service area is the greater Roanoke region of Virginia, we have on occasion saved land in other parts of the state. In the late 1990s, when the service area of the conservancy stretched from Bedford County to Lee County on the Tennessee and Kentucky border, we worked with local residents and legislators to conserve the large Big Survey tract in Wythe County. More recently, we’ve worked with local residents to conserve land in Campbell and Pittsylvania counties, just outside our formal service area. We have protected over 450 acres of land in these two counties alone!
If you’re a landowner with land outside of the BRLC service area who is interested in conserving their land, please feel free to call the land conservancy at (540) 985-0000 or e-mail Executive Director David Perry at [email protected] to discuss conservation options.
